Jesse Groves is a NASM-certified personal trainer and nutrition coach who began his training career in 2019 at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Recreation Center. There, he worked with students and staff while quickly advancing to a lead trainer role, mentoring new personal trainers and supporting a diverse client base that included beginners, student-athletes, and faculty members.

During his time at the university, Jesse was recognized for his impact and dedication — earning Trainer of the Month three times and Trainer of the Year in 2021.

Jesse has since expanded his experience across multiple training environments, most recently serving clients at STAT Wellness in Midtown, Atlanta. He has worked with individuals of all ages and fitness backgrounds — from middle school athletes to adults in their 60s — helping each client build strength, confidence, and sustainable health habits.

Career Timeline

2019 — UTK Recreation Center Started as personal trainer; advanced to lead trainer role. Mentored incoming trainers and worked with a wide range of clients.
2021 — Trainer of the Year Recognized for excellence in client outcomes and professional leadership. Also earned Trainer of the Month three times.
2022 — B.S. Aerospace Engineering, UTK Graduated with honors. Continued training while completing his degree.
2025 — M.S. Aerospace Engineering, UArizona Graduate Research Assistant. Founded Obsidian Performance Training to serve clients on his own terms.
2025–Current — STAT Wellness Expanded into Atlanta-area training environments, leading fitness classes designed to enhance strength, mobility, and overall health and wellness.
